Pregnant women are taught breathing techniques to ease the discomfort of the baby’s birth. Military personnel are taught breathing techniques to keep them calm and alert. Most meditation teachers teach breathing techniques as part of the meditation process. Not all these breathing techniques are the same.
While intentional breathing itself is extremely helpful in most situations, there is another important aspect to using any technique. That is, the technique trains you to focus your attention on your breath. Your breath is always with you, nothing to buy, nothing to misplace.
The whole Universe is engaged in the rebirth of Earth. It is an awesome, messy, joyous, frustrating, uplifting process. This is a truly magnificent event. And we are all here as midwives for the birth.
